Multiple People Shot at Howe Park Sacramento - Unauthorized Event Erupts in Gunfire





Saturday night, an unauthorized gathering of multiple hundreds of attendees at Howe Community Park in Sacramento County's Arden-Arcade neighborhood turned violent when upwards of 20 gunshots rang out as deputies from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office were attempting to removing people from the park.

The Incident

At around 6:30 PM on April 18, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department received calls involving persons reportedly carrying concealed firearms at Howe Community Park in Sacramento. Another caller reported a possible physical altercation and people leaving the area quickly.

Law enforcement air support was utilized and conducted an aerial search but found no evidence of an active fight.

Even so, hundreds of individuals had collected at the park for what authorities described as an unlawful gathering. Four individuals — a woman and three men, all young adults in their 20s — were taken to nearby hospitals.
